Lists

I like making lists. Maybe not as much as Anthony but still a lot. There is something about making a list that feels productive no matter what it is about. That is why I am going to make a list about what I want to do before I die; a bucket list if you will (although I really have no idea why it is called that). Totally random I know. Here goes.

1. Have kids and be a good Mom
2. Travel to Japan with Anthony
3. "Speak" sign language fluently
4. Go on a criuse with Anthony on an anniversary
5. Own a house! I mean no-more-mortgage kind of own!
6. Go on a couples mission
7. Be in the temple for my kid's marriages with my Husband
8. Make good homemade bread
9. Write lyrics to a song Anthony writes
10. Attend a session in the Navuao Temple
11. Drive across the country
12. Help children in a third world country get an education
13. Ride my bike in the MS 150
14. Climb a volcano in each hemisphere
15. Show Anthony around Seattle (my favorite city)
16. Get a Master's Degree in Geology
17. Explore a glacier
18. Volunteer on a regular basis
19. Go to the Louvre in France
20. Love Anthony forever! (This one isn't very hard!)

I would say this a pretty good list. I feel like it would be wonderful if I was actually able to experience all of this. The traveling is probably up in the air because I know Anthony has "own a Steinway" on his "bucket" list. :) I wonder what else would be on his list? I know that Volcanoes would NOT be involved but I do know that at least he will be with me on the first 10. Oh yea, and 20. :) I love that boy.

Life is insane!!!

I tried to do some quesitons in my physics book today so that I could prepare for the test. I just stared at the book wondering what it was talking about. That isn't a good sign. I actually think I am going to do better on the Statistics test which is really saying something. Maybe I can employ my genius husband as a tutor tonight. I sure hope he still remembers physics.

On a seperate note, married life is crazy with school and work. Yesterday Anthony and I ate dinner at 10:00. That is not healthy! We should have been sleeping! I was so emotional yesterday that it really isn't any wonder. My thanks goes out to all those men who are patient and loving even when their wives are crazy, most especially my Anthony! Thanks Love! On a scale of 1-10 YOU are an 11!!!

11 hours of homework is 5 hours....go!

Anthony keeps telling me not to pile everything I have to do up and look at it all at once but this is my habit. Resume, cover letter, style packet, and email for Tech Writing; homework and catch up in stats; 3 chapters of physics questions and a test to study for; Hamlet to read; a talk to write for church. That isn't everything but you get the idea. I am going to attempt to break it down and look at it one little piece at a time. Wish me luck!

The Atonement

I feel so blessed right now. Lately, I have wanted to get up in fast and testimony meeting and express my love and faith in the Lord who has given me everything but lately it has been hard to get up. (new wards do that I guess) I will next time but in the mean time I would like to share my testimony on here. I find myself wondering where the word testimony comes from. Maybe it has the word test in it because you only gain one if you test your faith or allow your faith to be tested. Just wondering.

I have recently learned that the atonement is for many different kind of hurts. The Savior suffered through our pain so that he would know how to succor us in our time of need, whatever that time may be. The atonement isn't just something that we talk about and feel forgiven because of. It is so much more. It is sometimes called the infinite atonement. I have realized this has more to do with its infinite applications than anything. It is REAL power. It is not just something that allows us to be forgiven. It heals our souls, hearts, minds, and through blessings our bodies. It is the power that gives us hope and allows us to feel joy. Even those on the earth that know nothing about the atonement benefit from its infinite effects. I know this to be true. I know it because it has touched me and continues to do so everyday in more personal and meaningful ways. One of my favorite quotes is by Elder Boyd K Packer. He states, "Restoring what you cannot restore, healing what you cannot heal, fixing that which you broke and cannot fix is the very purpose of the atonement of Christ." When we are in our darkest times it may feel like there is no way to go on happily. We are broken. We cannot fix ourselves. No matter how hard we try the trial is sometimes insurmountable. At least without the atonement it is. The atonement makes impossibilities possible.

Good, Better, Best

Weekends are good. Long weekends are better. Not having to go back to work at 7:30 in the morning following a long weekend? That would be best.

Home is where the...work is?

I used to find it a lot easier to stay focused and get a lot done when I was at work. Home was relax time. Even if things weren't all in order I would read or talk to my sister, not get busy and get a lot of things done. Somehow, I have flip flopped. I am so much more motivated when I am at home! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Anthony and I have our own place and everything there is ours not our parents (or all my roommates). More likely it is because, while I have a great boss, Anthony is a lot more appreciative. I am so glad to have a husband that thanks me for making the bed! =D

MRI machines are loud

On Friday I left work a bit early so that I could go to the emergency room. I was numb on the whole right side of my body. Very odd but not very scary...until I called my sister who freaked out and told me to go to the ER asap. Then I got scared. What if it was something like a stroke? Anthony came to get me and we went over to the hospital. We were there for about 6 hours in which time I had blood tests, and an MRI to see what was causing this. Long story short: No idea. My blood tests were good and my brain looked fine. Sure it is a relief but it is an expensive relief. Now I have to call the neurologist and have a follow up visit. My guess: my migraines are causing it. Migraines are after all somewhat mysterious. Who knows? Through all the craziness though, I am glad to have a husband that will sit with me for six hours and make me laugh even though he hates hospitals. I felt so much better when I was with him. It wasn't really in our plans of course, we were going to go to dinner and a movie, but sometimes life forces us to be flexible. We still went to dinner. Plus I have never laughed so much in the hospital as I laughed with him.

Migraines

I think that my family thinks that I have disappeared off the face of the earth. I am never over at their house and I hardly call. It isn't because I don't want to or I don't love them. It is just that lately a lot of my "free time" has been spend in bed with a pillow over my head. I don't know what is going on with me but I am getting migraines more and more. Last night I left my humanities class early (much to the dismay of my professor) so that I could drive home before it got much worse. Good thing too because it did get worse and like most times I ended up with the infamous pillow over the head. Anthony called my Dad and he came so that they could give me a blessing. It definitely helped. I am so lucky to have priesthood holders around me who love me! Anthony is so patient and good. He made dinner, again, and cleaned the apartment while occasionally checking in on me to see if I needed anything. He is my knight in shining armour. I just wish that I could make the headaches stop so that I could help him for a change. The huge bottle of Excedrin Migraine on my desk is starring at me and reminding me that might not happen anytime soon. :(

School!!!!

Something that some of you may not know about me is that I am a really big fan of school in general and college in particular. I LOVE school! In fact my Dad has always teased me that I wanted to become a professional student. In some ways this is true because I would love to be a professor someday. Last semester, I didn't go to school because I was saving a money and planning a wedding. That was the first fall I haven't gone to school. I missed it a lot but skipping it for a semester made me really apprehensive at times about going back. What if I forgot how to study? However, I am going to start my winter semester classes today and I am STOKED! What a blessing to be able to study. I am done only doing work. Work is all the same, school changes all of the time! Hooray for school!
